否定加比較級變最高階

否定詞與比較級連用表最高階時，只限於此類句式：

1、 否定主語，即主語本身是一些否定詞。

比如：nobody，nothing，no +名詞 或no other +名詞作主語，後加比較級，表示“沒有什麼人或物可與之相比”。

Nothing is more important than this. 沒有什麼比這件事更重要了。

=Nothing is so important as this.

= This is the most important thing.

這件事最重要。

Nobody works harder than Tom.

= Tom works hardest.

2、 否定謂語，即藉助情態動詞的否定形式can’t/couldn’t 後加比較級，或never，not，no等否定詞。

表示“不能做到與之相比”。

I couldn’t agree with you any more.

我非常同意。

It couldn’t be worse.不能再糟糕了。

用否定詞加比較級表最高階，比直接用最高階感覺更有說服力。

= = as+反義詞+as

如：Henry is no taller than Mike. = Neither Henry nor Mike is tall = Henry is as short as Mike.

第三種情況：not +比較級+than

表示前者不如後者

如：Henry is not taller than Mike.

= Henry is shorter than Mike.

= Mike is taller than Henry.

= Henry is not as/so tall as Mike.
