a，lot等於many還是much

a lot是一個短語，表示“程度”，有“很……，非常……”的意思。

a lot不等於many，當much修飾不可數名詞時，a lot也不等於much. 

修飾比較級時，a lot等於much.

例句：

1、Thanks a lot.

 =Thank you very much.

2、Tom knows a lot about China

3、A plane is a lot faster than a bike.

=A plane is much faster than a bike.

一、many、much、a lot of的用法

many意思是“很多”，與可數名詞複數連用

much意思是“很多”，與不可數名詞連用。a lot of既可與可數名詞連用，也可與不可數名詞連用。它們在句中可作主語、賓語和定語等。

如：

I don’t have many friends here.在這裏我沒有很多的朋友

Many died in the bus accident.許多人在公交車禍中喪失

There was a lot of mud on the ground.地上有許多泥。

二、many、much、a lot of的區別

a lot of(=lots of)和many、much區別在於它們只能用在肯定句中，而many，much不受限制。

如果將一個含有a lot of(=lots of)的肯定句改爲否定句或疑問句，要將它們改爲many或much。

We can see a lot of birds in the tree.

We can’t see many birds in the tree.我們在樹上看不到很多鳥兒。

He wants lots of soda.

Does he want much soda?他需要許多汽水嗎
