tell的用法和常見搭配

tell的中文含義是：說告訴講述。

例句：Tell him to wait for a few minutes， please.請告訴他等幾分鐘。

否定句:Tell  him  not  to  wait a  few  minutes.

tell一般用作及物動詞，常用於tell somebody to do something這個結構中，表示“要某人做某事”

如：Tell the kids to be quite， please. 請告訴孩子們保持安靜。

類似的結構還有ask somebody to do something。

tell還常用於tell somebody something和tell somebody about something這兩個結構中。兩個結構都有“告訴”的意思，它們的區別是：tell somebody something告訴某人某事（往往是不需要解釋、說明的事）tell somebody about something向某人講述某事（往往含有解釋、說明的意味）。
