不定式2種獨立用法

一、獨立結構

to be frank

to be honest

to tell the truth

這三個片語是同義詞，意思是“說實話”、“老實說”或“坦率地說”

To tell the truth， I am not happy at the moment.

二、與疑問詞連用：不定式與疑問詞who，which， when， how， what 等連用，在句中起名詞作用，可充當主語、表語、賓語等。

He didn’t know what to say.(賓語)

在英語中，動詞不定式可用作獨立成分來修飾整個句子，常見的有：

to be honest (to be brief/exact/frank)

to begin with

to tell the truth

so to speak

to say the least（至少可以這麼說）

to say nothing of（姑且不說）

如:

— To say the least.
