蘇波克拉底的醫學誓言原文

I swear by Apollo， the healer， Asclepius， Akso， and Panacea， and I take to witness all the gods， all the goddesses， to keep according to my ability and my judgment， the following Oath and agreement:

醫藥神阿波羅，阿斯克勒庇俄斯（希臘神話中的醫神），阿克索（希臘神話中的健康女神）及帕那刻亞（希臘神話中代表完全治療的女神）諸神為證，鄙人在此宣誓，願以自身能力、判斷力所及，遵守此約：

To consider dear to me， as my parents， him who taught me his art to live in common with him and， if necessary， to share my goods with him To look upon his children as my own brothers， to teach them this art.

凡授吾醫術者，當敬之如父母，視之為同道中人。若彼有急需，吾當接濟之。視彼子嗣，猶我兄弟，如其欲受業，吾當傳授之。

I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.

吾願盡餘之醫術與判斷力所及，遵守為病人謀益處之信條，不害眾生。

I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked， nor will I advise such a plan and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.

吾不會將危害藥品給與他人，雖有人請，亦必不與之。亦不為婦人施墮胎手術。

But I will preserve the purity of my life and my arts.

吾願以此純潔之精神終身履行義務。

I will not cut for stone， even for patients in whom the disease is manifest I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners， specialists in this art.

凡有患結石者，吾不輕易施以手術，有待於專家為之。

In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients， keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men， be they free or slaves.

無論行至何處，遇男或女，市民或奴隸，吾唯一之目的，即為病人謀幸福，並檢點吾身，不做害人或誘姦等卑鄙惡劣之事。

All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or in daily commerce with men， which ought not to be spread abroad， I will keep secret and will never reveal.

凡吾所見所聞，無論有無業務關係，吾以為應保密者，願守祕密。

If I keep this oath faithfully， may I enjoy my life and practice my art， respected by all men and in all times but if I swerve from it or violate it， may the reverse be my lot.

若吾嚴守上述誓言，請求神祇使吾生命與醫術得無上之光榮。苟違誓，天地諸神共伐之。
